A little about who and what RCBP is. Well, my name is Heather and my husband is Jay. We are the owners of River City Bark and Park. We both have grown up in Elizabeth City and Camden. We moved a way for a bit but found our way back. Jay and I are both animal lovers so this is a passion for us. Ok, now a little about each of us and our vision.
My name is Heather and this business has always been a dream of mine. I hold a bachelor in business from Purdue University. I have always had animals both domestic and exotic ever since I can remember. I have worked with many rescues either fostering or training. As a dog lover, I got into breeding, showing and raising German shepherd. I think the first love of training came from working and training horses. My specialty is hard to train or aggressive dogs. I like the challenge. I have been training animals for over 20 years. I am working on getting a national certification The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers® (CCPDT®).
Now onto Jay. He has always been around animals mostly domestic. Mainly dogs and commercial pigs. He worked on a commercial hog farm for over 8 years. He has been he train dogs for over 10 years. His first love is wood working but give him an idea and he will run with it. He also loves technology stuff.
Rcbp is a dream of ours for many many years. We have thought planned out and tried to take everything we thought possible to put into our dream. I think this all started from when I used to board my German shepherd, she would come back so hyper and stinky. Some times she would pick up bad habits in a short time that had to be corrected. We wanted Rcbp to be a fun and and enriching place for the dogs. At Rcbp staff play, and do enriching exercise to keep dogs minds and body engage.
